Augmented Reality (AR) is one of the main technology enablers for the digital transformation. On the one hand, the rapid pace of development in AR hardware and software enables more and more applications, on the other hand it becomes difficult to keep track of the technological possibilities and limitations. Today, AR applications are mostly developed by specialists, who need to master different skills, including coding and 3D animations. Utilizing a simple to used AR application, this project aims to create an industry-centric training for executives and professionals to help them use AR in manufacturing. After teaching the fundamentals of AR, the training focuses on the creation of step-by-step instructions that then get enhanced with AR features. This enables professionals to create simple but useful AR instructions. Additionally, the training helps identifying new use-cases for AR while building the tools and skills necessary to create those for executives and professionals alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pilot Workshops<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In late June, project partners conducted a first pilot training at the BKWB in Wuppertal, Germany<\/a>. As part of a broader program on Industry 4.0, a half-day pilot workshop was delivered covering AR and the ARCMS. Gathered feedback will be used to improve upcoming workshops and generated learning nuggets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
